Early morning walk around Carsington Reservoir…then breakfast

Me and Heather both had a day off work on Friday (21/1/11) and decided to take Poppy around Carsington Reservoir.

The weather was perfect, a little frosty and it was very quiet. To finish I had to try the Full English all of which was organic and locally produced.

I really enjoyed the Evil Sheriff Duathalon (see previous post) so this year I’ve signed up for some serious events.

1) The Derbyshire Building Society 10k on Sunday 3rd April 2011 starting at Pride Park.

2) White Peak half marathon  on 21st May 2011

The Formark Hall Triathlon

The Formark Hall Triathlon is set set in the beautiful grounds of Foremark Hall.  The Georgian Manor house is home to the Repton Preparatory School. This is the first year of the Foremark triathlon and is aimed at both novice competitors and more experienced athletes.

What is triathlon?
Triathlon is a multi-discipline event where people compete against the clock and each other. Swimming, cycling and running with no break except for the transition (this is a quick pit stop to change for the next discipline).


Location
Foremarke Hall is located to the south of Derby, and easily reached from both the M6 and M1 using the A50.


The swim
The swim will be 16 lengths in the 25 metre pool.


The bike
The cycle section is a one lap 20K loop around the local countryside, takingin the historic towns of repton and willington.

The Run
The 5K run is all within the grounds of foremarke.  This is both on tarmac and off road footpaths.
